A dialogue between Rita Segato and Jacques Lacan https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/75600
This essay proposes an ethics of masculinity based on the anthropological theory of Rita Segato and the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan. Based on an analysis of sexual violence, it explains how patriarchy produces a subject who must acquire masculinity through the subjugation of feminine or feminized subjects. It then delves into the category of sexual difference to argue that the patriarchal masculine subject possesses phallic jouissance. His desire is constituted by an insatiable lack that must be covered by narcissistic displays of domination and power. Finally, the essay proposes an ethics of masculinity in which it may be possible to transmute the desire for power hinged on new social forms of inhabiting affectivity, sensitivity and vulnerability.
José Manuel Neri Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/75600 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Psychological diagnosis: clinical exercise framed within theoretical-technical and professional-ethical aspects https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77367
The text reflects on the attitudes and values inherent in the clinical act known as "psychological diagnosis" considering its practical application is a declared competence in the graduation profile of most psychology programs offered by Chilean universities. A general overview of clinical, theoretical, and relational technical aspects is presented, which have historically promoted, along with other factors, the rights of the patient. The uniqueness of the psychologist is acknowledged, as their training and subjectivity influence the diagnostic process. Finally, the current technical-administrative regulations are analyzed in relation to ethical considerations.
Margarita Loubat, Makarena Moris Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77367 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Can religion be compatible with J. Through a review of language acquisition, it support the idea of the subject as a fiction of unity that eludes words and the experience of not being able to fully say. Language is revealed as a metaphor that moves and reveal something of the vital background –underpinned by lack and desire– of the word, while poetry allows us to glimpse what is only vaguely and uncertainly presented in everyday words.
Raimundo López Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/75645 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 School, ethics and morals in telesecondary education students https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77663
This article analyzes how schools contribute to shaping ethical and moral behaviors in telesecondary students in Mexico. The analysis is based on qualitative research using the hermeneutic method and documentary research, as well as the author's teaching experience as a telesecundaria teacher. The results show that the New Mexican School promotes students' self-steem through the subject of Civic and Ethical Education. This involves curricular development, teacher modeling, and a rethinking of the assessment of learning generated in the subject.
Amada Inocencia Tapia-Cielo, Lorena Martínez-Zavala Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77663 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Plant Intelligence? https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77362
This paper, based on discoveries in plant neurophysiology and their connection to Humberto Maturana's concept of autopoiesis, proposes an interpretation of plants as sensitive and intelligent living beings, despite lacking a brain or central nervous system. Specifically, it proposes understanding intelligence as a quality distributed in varying degrees throughout the organization of living organisms, whose function is none other than to solve problems to maintain coherence with the environment.
Claudia Donoso Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77362 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Inscriptions of Violence and Resistance https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/76633
The article explores the configuration of violence and bodily resistance practices in Mariana Enríquez's short story “Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego” (2016). Drawing on a Lacanian perspective on the body, along with reflections on body and power from authors such as Michel Foucault (1979), Rita Segato (2016) and Slavoj Žižek (2009), the analysis examines how power shapes the female body within the imaginary, symbolic, and real registers. Consequently, two configurations of the female body are distinguished: one shaped by patriarchal violence and the other constructed by women in resistance.
Valeria Zúñiga Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/76633 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Sartre and the limits of antropological transhumanism https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/76913
Transhumanism argues that, through human technoscientific transformations, it will be possible, not only to eliminate human flaws and negative sensations, but also to increase human experience and achieve immortality. Jean Paul Sartre, instead, argues that the human being, as a being for-itself, possesses an unknowable dimension that they can only exist. From the concept of unknowable consciousness, the body for-itself and Sartre’s distinction between alive and death bodies, I argue that transhumanist transformations do not eliminate human lack or negativity, but instead, decrease human experiences and promote the immortalization of a none alive being.
Íñigo Álvarez Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/77531 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Review of 'The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence' by Luciano Floridi https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/78105

Book review of ‘La ética de la inteligencia artificial’ by Luciano Floridi.

Raul Fernando Lopez Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/78105 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Editorial https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/78567
Editorial issue 11
Luca De Vittorio Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Ethika+ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistaethika.uchile.cl/index.php/ETK/article/view/78567 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000
