On 4 May 1925, the first School of Social Work in Chile and Latin America was founded. As a discipline, we are preparing to commemorate this event. This issue contains articles and research reports addressing what has happened in the discipline over this century.

Propuestas Críticas en Trabajo Social - Critical Proposals in Social Work is an academic journal from the Department of Social Work at the University of Chile, that aims to promote debate and the construction of proposals that seek to contest the impacts of capitalism, inequalities, and oppressions that affect various sectors of society. The journal intends to be of public incidence promoting the legitimacy of plural forms of life and substantive democracy.
