Universities and social policies for youth

Authors

Abstract

This article states that Argentinian universities have joined the universe of social policies for youth during the last decade. Based on a combined reading of a territorial, institutional and enrollment university expansion, and of the emergence of social and academic policies specifically oriented to promote and support higher education among working-class young people, the text shows the way in which these institutions are included in a local government structure going beyond traditional academic activities. The research supporting this article follows an approach which is simultaneously ethnographic, theoretical-methodological, and political- anthropological.
